COUNSELLING SKILLS, THEORY AND PRACTICE
1st YEAR OCN LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATE CAN PROGRESS TO 2ND YEAR OCN LEVEL 4 DIPLOMA
COMMENCING ON THURSDAY 15TH APRIL
This counselling course is delivered from a Christian perspective and is aimed at those who support people through their work, church, voluntary or pastoral settings and are keen to develop their counselling skills and apply this in a practical way to their setting.
It takes an in-depth look at the subject of counselling and putting counselling theory into practice. All you need is a heart for people and a desire to expand your skills in counselling to support others through homegroups, pastoral settings, community and voluntary groups or the workplace.
The course will be delivered over zoom with face-to-face sessions to practice skills when we are able to meet in person.
Each term will consist of 12 weekly lectures from 7pm-10pm and one Saturday 9.30 – 4.30pm plus 7 hours to facilitate either Individual or Small group tutorial time. The course will consist of teaching, group discussions, skills practice and an ongoing portfolio of work to be completed. Assessment will be through successful submission of the portfolio of work complied during the course and submitted at end of each term.
There may be the option of running a daytime course if numbers allow.
The 1st year course costs £450 + a one-off payment of £70 for registration & recognition with Open College Network (OCN). If needed the £450 can be paid each term £150.
Each year will the course consists of 200 hours, 150 hours of this is guided learning.
The cost can be paid either in one payment or termly or further options can be discussed and agreed upon.
The full 2-year course has been recognised by the Open College Network at Level 4 Diploma
